Born during the 1980s "alternative comedy" boom, the daddy of UK comedy clubs attracts the sharpest, savviest comics on the circuit. For script free sketches and surreal flights of fancy you can't beat the twice weekly improvised performance from the resident Comedy Store Players, featuring some of the UK's finest stand-ups. Those who like their comedy with a whiff of terror will relish the King Gong night, on the last Monday of the month, when would-be comics are given as much time on the stage as the rowdy audience will allow - barely time for a one liner for some sorry souls.
